Loza Blade announces that she will leave Dol-Makjar before first light and retire to her family’s old farm near Dol-Rungja. Before departing, she reveals that she preserved half of the Torn Banner standard after the company was required to disband as a condition of amnesty or clemency twelve years earlier. She gives the fragment to Teor Pridesire, asking him to keep it even if the Banner never flies again.
