How did Dol-Makjar change from the city Teor remembers, and what remains of its revolutionary institutions and ideals?
The Revolutionary Council still exists, but the Chamber has exercised unprecedented authority, Sundered House forces dominate public order and House Halovar is expanding a religious movement the city has resisted. Episode 1 shows the transformation but not the full political history behind it.
What is the forming mask, why does Thimble’s name activate it and how is it connected to Bolaire?
Thaisha retrieved the box as Thjazi’s final request. It opens at the sound of Thimble’s name, and black clay and velvet assemble into a face resembling Bolaire’s mask. No purpose or creator is identified.
What prevented Cyd from reaching the rescue, and where is he now?
Cyd was expected to drive Casimir’s wagon into position for Thjazi’s teleportation. Teor expected to find him at the execution, Azune has not seen him, and Episode 1 ends without any contact or confirmed sighting.
Who ordered the attack, who wore the fine boots, and how did the attackers learn the hideout and timing?
Thimble remembers seven masked assailants and killed at least three. Their bodies were removed. Feathers and scent traces suggest Crow Keeper involvement, but one attacker’s fine boots imply a different status or outside participant. The perpetrators and employer remain unconfirmed.
Who stole the Stone from Thimble’s hideout, where is it now and why was this funerary relic targeted?
The attackers shattered the Stone’s case and removed it. Bolaire identifies it as a guide for elven souls, while Thimble says she and Thjazi recovered it and Vaelus says Thjazi stole it from her. Its current custody is unknown.
Who or what closed Faerie, what is happening beyond the doors and can the connection be restored?
The closure is a real continuing event rather than a metaphor. Thimble lost her immortal connection and began ageing, messages to the Golden Orchard have dwindled and the door remains closed. No cause or responsible party is identified.
What political, religious, personal or strategic reason made Thjazi’s death necessary to the Photarch?
Wicander believed his family had secured clemency, but the Photarch privately reversed or overruled that expectation. Wicander’s father supported the death as a lesson, and the execution became the Chamber’s first exclusive exercise of capital authority.
What threatens Murray or the Penteveral, and what help did Thjazi expect Halandil to provide?
Murray is later confirmed as a Penteveral employee, and Davrasi is barred from entering. Nothing in Episode 1 explains why Thjazi considered the institution urgent or why he personified it as “her.”
Who compromised the rescue, what did Azune detect on Thjazi, and is Cyd’s disappearance part of the same sabotage?
The rescue failed before its first physical stage. Thimble was attacked while finishing the glyph, the genuine rune remained beside her, and Azune’s scan detected a different source of conjuration and illusion magic on Thjazi. The saboteur, false signature and role of Cyd remain unknown.
What did Thjazi see above the Guardian Wall, and why did it frighten him?
The sight itself is never shown. Halandil perceives Thjazi’s panic through their magical connection, and the fear remains visible on Thjazi’s face after death.
What is the shadow following Julien, and what consequence does it represent?
The presence appears only after Julien secretly spits upon Thjazi’s body and crosses the protection formed by the mourners’ offerings. Bolaire can see it and believes the museum may contain relevant folklore.
Is the paint literal, magical, coded or a prepared resource, and what does Bolaire know about it?
The only confirmed evidence is Thjazi’s urgent statement. Bolaire later reaches the Farramh, but neither Halandil nor Bolaire discusses the paint during Episode 1.
What did Kattigan see near the crofters’ village, and was it connected to his contract near Pinebrough?
The incident is described only through narration. It occurred in a rural area before Kattigan entered the city, and he was also finishing a contract near Pinebrough. The transcript does not explicitly equate the two.
