Enormous war houndsGuardian CreaturesHostile GuardiansHigh ThreatAlive And Chained

Enormous chained war hounds guarding the Prismatic Retort, blinded by golden plates and able to project a Dispel Magic pulse through their barking.

Introduction

Two enormous war hounds are chained to opposite sides of the route into the Prismatic Retort. Their drool glows bioluminescently, solid golden plates cover their eyes and every bark sends an innate Dispel Magic pulse over those entering. Wicander recognises them as similar in kind to Sir Filoneus’s war dogs, although the Retort hounds are far larger.

Appearance

Massive chained hounds with glowing saliva and solid golden plates fixed over their eyes.

Behaviour

The hounds bark and snarl at entrants while projecting a non-damaging magical pulse that dispels magic.

Habitat & Ecology

Chained within the guarded approach to the Prismatic Retort beneath Villa Aurora.

Origin

Unknown. They are similar in kind to Sir Filoneus’s war dogs but are much larger and magically specialised.
