Evasion

If the Assassin is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, the Assassin instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the save and only half damage if it fails. It can't use this trait if it has the Incapacitated condition.

The assassin's body moves with inhuman fluidity, twisting away from explosions and dragon fire as if choreographed. Where others dive for cover, the assassin simply… isn't there anymore when the flames arrive.

Multiattack

The Assassin makes three attacks, using Shortsword or Light Crossbow in any combination.

A blur of motion—blade flashing low while the crossbow comes up in one smooth arc. Three strikes in the time it takes to blink, each one calculated and lethal.
Shortsword

Melee Attack Roll: +7, reach 5 ft.

Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) Piercing damage plus 17 (5d6) Poison damage, and the target has the Poisoned condition until the start of the assassin’s next turn.

The blade whispers through the air, trailing a sickly green sheen. Steel punches through flesh with surgical precision, followed by the burning spread of venom through the bloodstream. The victim's limbs grow heavy, movements sluggish—poison doing its grim work.
Light Crossbow

Ranged Attack Roll: +7, range 80/320 ft.

Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) Piercing damage plus 21 (6d6) Poison damage.

The crossbow's *thwick* is almost gentle—deceptively quiet. The bolt buries deep with a wet thud, its poison-slicked tip already pumping toxins into muscle and bone. Distance means nothing to a killer this patient.

The Assassin takes the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.

One moment the assassin is there, the next—gone. A roll behind cover, a sprint into shadow, melting into the environment like smoke. No wasted movement, only calculated survival.
