The knights, queens and kings of Britain's greatest myth — rebuilt as homebrew stat blocks for 5e. Every entry is rooted in genuine Arthurian tradition, from the Welsh Mabinogion to Malory's Morte d'Arthur, with mechanics designed to capture not just what these figures can do, but who they are.
The Arthurian legends are the closest thing Britain has to a native mythology — a body of story that has been told, retold, expanded and reinterpreted for over a thousand years, from the earliest Welsh poems to the Victorian romance tradition and beyond. These are not fairy tales. They are tragedies, political dramas, and moral investigations dressed in the language of knights and magic swords, and they reward the same depth of reading.
This collection treats the Arthurian tradition seriously. Every creature is grounded in primary sources — Nennius, Geoffrey of Monmouth, the Welsh Triads, the Vulgate Cycle, Malory — rather than the sanitised romance versions most people encounter first. Arthur here is Dux Bellorum, leader of wars, not a storybook king. Guinevere is Gwenhwyfar, White Phantom, sovereignty of the land made flesh. Lancelot is the greatest knight who ever lived and the man who destroyed everything he loved without ever meaning to.
Mechanically the collection is designed so that the figures work both as standalone encounters and in combination. Arthur and Guinevere together create overlapping aura effects that transform any allied force. Lancelot alongside either of them activates Divided Loyalty, adding tactical complexity that rewards careful play. The full trio present simultaneously is a CR 20+ challenge that only the most prepared high level parties should attempt.
Each entry includes custom sections covering the narrative hooks, campaign implications and dramatic possibilities specific to that figure. This is not just a bestiary — it is a toolkit for running Arthurian campaigns with the weight and complexity the source material deserves.
